Fruits of the Spirit

Hello 🙂

I am very happy to share with you the first of a new series!! Each painting will be 9×12 and will have one of the fruits of the spirit written in the centre of a fruit wreath.

Here is the first, it is titled “Joy”.

Things for Baby

Hello, Hello 🙂

Over the last month I have stepped aside from painting and tried my hand at other crafts, specifically with a focus of creating things for my baby which is to be born in a couple months. The first project I made was a stuffed whale using this pattern from Pinterest:

Since I am currently without a sewing machine it is completely hand-stitched. For the fabric a used an old hoodie; it’s the same fabric just different sides for the light and dark. Then I stuffed it with stuffing from an old pillow. Here he is!!

For the most part the pattern was easy to follow, but for some reason when it came to sewing the mouth/nose area together the pieces didn’t line up very well. So he ended up with a rounder nose than the whales from the pattern, but I still think he looks cute. 😛

My next project was a baby hat. I got some nice wool yarn for Christmas and found this really cute pattern from Pinterest (it’s a great resource).

And here’s the one I made:

Once again, the pattern was straight forward but in the end it looked too deep so I folded the front part back to make a cuff. I’m all about adjusting things to make them work for me. 😛

Finally, here is a pic of the two put together. It just seemed like a convenient place to keep my hat until the baby arrived. 🙂
